“If we don’t check a sheet pricing right now, a cinema is going to drop down really badly,” Salman pronounced here.
“The numbers (of productions) are increasing, though footfalls are reducing. At Rs 80 and Rs 100 for a ticket, Marathi films are doing Rs 100 crore business and with a sheet prices of Rs 250, we are hardly means to hold Rs 100 crore. It’s shameful,” Salman added.
He feels a day about “20,000 theatres” are combined in a country, filmmaking “will be a opposite diversion altogether”.
