Bollywood singer Kareena Kapoor Khan, a grandchild of mythological actor-filmmaker Raj Kapoor, says nepotism does not exist in a Indian film industry. The singer was benefaction during The India Today Conclave 2018 along with her sister Karishma Kapoor on Saturday. In a review with publisher Rajdeep Sardesai, she was asked if nepotism exists in a film industry.
Kareena replied: “There are so many superstars from yesteryears and not all of their children are a superstar. If nepotism exists, they would have been a large star by now.”
“The fact that Ranveer Singh has turn a new luminary of Bollywood who does not come from a film family proves a fact that they turn luminary out of their perfect talent and tough work. Nepotism does not exist,” she said.
“I consider it is about a talent that takes we where we go. When we are on-screen, anybody can make or mangle you; anyone can make a visualisation on we irrespective of we are a daughter or grandchildren of someone,” pronounced Karishma.
“And for a youngster who has a outrageous family and bequest behind, is most tough to make a mark,” she added.
While they were countered by Sardesai that “but Kangana (Ranaut, actress) pronounced otherwise”, Karishma said: “People can have their opinion and we should honour any opinion.”
