Flamboyant Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh has been awarded with a doctorate grade in Philosophy Honoris Causa (Ph.D h.c.) by ITM University, Gwalior. The hospital awarded a Doctorate to Yuvraj for his ‘extraordinary sporting bravery and as a matter of change with good firmness and humility’. Along with Yuvraj, venerable personalities like Dr. A.S. Kiran Kumar (Space) Govind Nihalani (Film), Dr. Ashok Vajpayi (Poetry), Rajat Sharma (Media), Dr. R.A. Mashelkar (Science Technology and Aruna Roy (Social Work) also perceived a honour.

Accepting a doctorate, Singh said, ‘I am celebrated to have been awarded this doctorate. In a way, it gives me an additional shortcoming of holding a honour with good firmness and continue to live by instance in all we do.’ Yuvraj, who has over 10,000 general runs in over 400 appearances, has been Indian cricket team’s go-to actor on countless occasions. The Chandigarh-based cricketer has always kept his best for a biggest stage, be it attack 6 sixes off English bowler Stuart Broad during India’s jubilant 2007 T20 World Cup debate or winning a `Man of a Tournament` in 2011 World Cup winning feat. A charitable himself, Yuvraj started a non-charitable classification – YouWeCan Foundation in 2012 underneath a Bombay Trust Act 1950. After he was diagnosed with cancer and survived, Yuvraj drew impulse from a Livestrong Foundation in a USA and emerged as a crusader in a quarrel opposite cancer.
