A Monster Calls is a low anticipation novel created for children by Patrick Ness, from an strange thought by Siobhan Dowd, illustrated by Jim Kay, and published by Walker in 2011.
Set in present-day England, it facilities a child who struggles to cope with a consequences of his mother’s depot cancer; he is regularly visited in a center of a night by a beast who tells stories. Dowd suffered from depot cancer herself when she started a story and died before she could write it.
The film stars Sigourney Weaver, Felicity Jones and Liam Neeson.
