Review:

FOOD: Flavourful
AMBIENCE: Cheerful
SERVICE: Prompt
COST: Reasonable
VERDICT: *

The city seems to have been strike by a call of new eateries in a new year. Joining a list is Kettle Keg, a month-old all-day dining space in Khar, that we confirm to check out on a weekend afternoon. Although it’s dull when we arrive, we are seated outdoor because, surprisingly, all a tables indoors have been reserved. We don’t mind it so most since a shutter keeps any object away.

The endless menu facilities Continental fare, with revamped versions of a few internal favourites thrown in. As of now, a grill serves beverages like smoothies, shakes and iced teas, with booze accessible on weekends.

3 Cheese Lamb Burger

To start with, we get a Keg’s Signature Missal Pav (Rs 210), an engaging take on a Maharashtrian staple. Served with tiny laadi pav (made in-house), this chronicle replaces a arthropod beans (matki) and potatoes with sago (sabudana). Tempered ideally and surfaced with potato sticks (salli), a plate is not too fiery. Among a colourless grilled meats, that a server recommends, we try a BBQ Beef and Chilli Lime Marinade (Rs 415). This one has intensity — a charred carabeef is luscious and flavourful, injured usually by a fact that it was somewhat chewy.

Banana Leaf Wrapped Indian Salmon with Berry Pulao

We also sequence a Banana Leaf Wrapped Indian Salmon with Berry Pulao (Rs 550). While a fish is uninformed and coated in spicy chutney, a pulao falls brief since it replaces a traditionally used barberries with dusty cranberries. The prominence of a dish is a 3 Cheese Lamb Burger (Rs 415), that facilities tender lamb kebabs surfaced with cheese and slathered in hung curd.

Kettle Keg leaves us confused. It appears to be a unchanging Continental grill perplexing tough to fit in with a cold boys, who are doing something different. However, going by how renouned it seems to be with diners overdue to the family-friendly menu and ambience, we don’t see it going anywhere anytime soon.
