Stolen during birth, lady reunited with family 18 years later

Walterboro: Stolen from a sanatorium usually hours after she was born, an 18-year-old wo­man finally schooled her loyal temperament and was reunited on Friday with her birth family by video chat.

The lady she knew as her mom was charged with her kidnap as a baby. Thanks to DNA analysis, a 18-year-old now knows her birth name: Kamiyah Mobley. She is in go­od health though is understandably overwhelmed.

Police arrested Gloria Willi­ams (51) in South Carolina where Mobley was lifted in a tiny house, about 200 miles from a sanatorium where she was born. She will be extradited to Florida on charges of abduction and division with custody, authorities said.

In Jacksonville, a immature woman’s birth family cried “tears of joy” after a investigator told them their baby had been found. Within hours on Friday, they were means to reconnect by video chat.

“She looks usually like her dad­dy,” pronounced her consanguine gra­nd­mother, Velma Aiken. “She acts like she been articulate to us all a time. She told us she’d be here shortly to see us.”

Mobley was usually 8 ho­urs aged when she was taken from her immature mom by a lady posing as a helper during University Medical Center.

A large hunt ensued, with helicopters encircling a sanatorium and a city on high alert, and thousands of tips came in over a years, though she had disappeared.
