Colombo: Maiden Test century from Dhananjaya de Silva, on Saturday, scripted Sri Lanka’s reconstruction from a unsafe position to 214-5 during stumps opposite Australia on initial day of a final Test in Colombo.

De Silva and Dinesh Chandimal put together an dominant 188-run partnership for a sixth wicket to frustrate a Australian bowling conflict after Sri Lanka were reduced to 26 for 5 while batting initial in a third Test.
De Silva continued his dirty innings by reaching 116 during close, with clever support from Chandimal batting on 64. De Silva’s 240-ball stay was laced with 16 fours while Chandimal strike 4 boundaries.
