Mumbai Food: Indian cuisine gets a Japanese and Italian renovate in BKC

It’s been a year given BKC grill Dishkiyaoon opened, and as partial of a initial anniversary celebrations, a menu has seen an overhaul. The new-look list facilities dishes that are Indian during heart, though fused with elements from dual nations famous for their culinary bravery – Italy and Japan. Unconventional? Yes. Does it work? Mostly, yes.

It’s filled with quirky dishes, with options for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. Even a desserts have been given identical treatment, that means we get a decadent gajar halwa served to we in a form of a tart, or a tiramisu that creates use of normal filter kaapi.

We sampled a few dishes, including a Vada Pao Panzanella, that takes a classical salad from Tuscany and gives it a smattering of Bambaiyya essence with chunks of some good ol’ vada pao, and a oh-so-comforting Chicken Tikka Lasagne. Here are a favourites.

Goan Tempura Prawns
There’s something smashing about satirical into a crunchy, tempura-coated membrane and anticipating a big, luscious prawn inside. This plate takes a Japanese favourite a nick aloft by portion it in a Goan prawn curry, perfumed with spices and abounding with coconut milk. Douse it on steamed rice, and tuck in.
COST: Rs 465

Edamame Seekh
Edamame, that ideal pick-me-up in a pod, finds a approach into this Indian travel fare-inspired dish. We like a hardness a beans supplement to a kebabs, which, nonetheless a tad dry on their own, are softened by a minty dip.
COST: Rs 325

Shrikhand Cannoli
A renouned Sicilian dessert, a cannoli gets an ascent on this menu. The light and flaky tubular bombard is as Italian as can be. However, it’s a stuffing a bombard encases that creates a dessert a must-have. We also like that a tawny reduction of shrikhand and uninformed ricotta isn’t too sweet.
