New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Monday quashed criminal record opposite cricketer M S Dhoni for allegedly hurting eremite sentiments by portraying himself as God on a magazine cover.

A dais headed by Justice Ranjan Gogoi postulated a relief to Dhoni after observant that a hearing justice in Karnataka erred in summoning a cricketer but following a due procedure of law.

“We meddle with a sequence of a High Court and quash the record including a summoning sequence opposite the accused… we have taken note of a censure and a offence alleged while flitting this order” a dais said.

On Sep 14, final year, a peak justice had stayed the criminal record opposite Dhoni on a censure lodged for allegedly portraying himself as Lord Vishnu on a magazine cover page.

The justice had also stayed a operation of a sequence of Karnataka High Court that had refused to case a criminal proceedings opposite him. 

Dhoni had filed a Special Leave Petition challenging the Karnataka HC order.

The complaint, filed by amicable romantic Jayakumar Hiremath, had purported that Dhoni was seen on a cover of a business repository as Lord Vishnu, holding several things, including a shoe in his hands.

Taking cognizance of a complaint, a Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (ACMM) had destined registration of a case opposite Dhoni underneath territory 295 (injuring or defiling place of ceremony with vigilant to insult a sacrament of any class) along with 34 (common intention) of a IPC.

Later, a ACMM had released summons to Dhoni to appear before a court, opposite that he changed a High Court.
