Former BCCI arch Anurag Thakur hails personality MS Dhoni

New Delhi: Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who on Wednesday stepped down as India’s One-Day International and Twenty20 International (T20I) sides captain, was hailed as “one of a excellent leaders” by former BCCI boss Anurag Thakur.

“Hey @msdhoni yuv been one of a excellent leaders of Indian Cricket @BCCI, led a group to good heights desirous so many opposite countries!,” Thakur wrote on Twitter.

Thakur was assimilated by remarkable cricket commentator Harsha Bhogle and 2012 Olympic bronze medal-winning shooter Gagan Narang in highlighting Dhoni’s achievements as India captain.

Bhogle also commented that this was a unselfish move. “Clearly Dhoni thinks a impulse has come. Thought he would quit after a Champions Trophy, though this is a unselfish move.

“Trying to consider like #Dhoni. Kohli many expected 2019 World Cup captain, so best that he leads in a Champions Trophy so best he starts now.”
