- Updated: October 10, 2017
London: Unilever-owned personal caring code Dove has deleted a “three-second video clip” from a Facebook page, apologising for a racially unresponsive ad by observant that a association “missed a symbol in representing women of colour thoughtfully”.
The announcement showed a black lady wearing a brownish-red shirt stealing her tip to exhibit a white lady in a lighter top.
A third picture afterwards showed a white lady stealing her shirt to uncover a lady of apparently Asian descent, nbcnews.com reported late on Sunday.
“An picture we recently posted on Facebook missed a symbol in representing women of colour thoughtfully. We deeply bewail a corruption it caused,” Dove posted after stealing a ad that influenced a debate on amicable media.
“Dove is committed to representing a beauty of diversity. The feedback that has been common is critical to us and we’ll use it to beam us in a future,” it added.
The ad triggered recoil from consumers.
“This is gross. You consider people of colour can only rinse divided their melanin and turn white? What were we going for, exactly? Your artistic executive should be fired,” one Facebook user posted.
A screenshot of a announcement was initial common by US makeup artist Naomi Leann Blake that after went viral.
