Actor Ken Watanabe is all set to play a lead in a Japanese reconstitute of Harrison Ford’s 1993 thriller The Fugitive. The original, destined by Andrew Davis, was formed on a 1960s radio array of a same name. It featured Ford as a famed surgeon, Dr. Richard Kimble, who is condemned to genocide after he is poorly convicted of his wife’s murder.
The Japanese version, to be destined by Seiji Izumi, will be done into a special module for a country’s network TV Asahi. It will be set in present-day Tokyo only before a opening of a 2020 Tokyo Olympics, reported Variety.
The story will follow Kazuki Kakurai (Watanabe), an chosen surgeon, whose mother is murdered. Despite Kakurai’s insistence that a male with a prosthetic palm is a culprit, Kakurai is arrested, attempted and condemned to death.
