Homewood-Flossmoor HS Students Walkout in Outrage Over Blackface Video

On Apr 30, 2019, students during Homewood-Flossmoor High School, in Flossmoor, Illinois a suburb of Chicago, took partial in a walkout. The walkout all started after a amicable media post display tyro in blackface, that took place on Apr 29.

The amicable media post shows 4 Homewood-Flossmoor High School tyro in blackface, interlude during Mcdonald’s drive-thru creation adverse remarks about a African-American race. The teenagers posted a video on Instagram in sequence to be seen and have it go viral. However, once they started receiving disastrous comments on a post, they took it down.

The 4 Flossmoor students contend that they did not have any goal of harming anyone, they were only joking around and carrying fun. However, since of this incident, a mayors of both Homewood and Flossmoor (the dual towns that make adult a school) are removing involved, observant a farrago of these communities should be respected, and age does not matter since that form of function will not be condoned.

Although a blackface occurrence did not occur on propagandize grounds, they are still confronting punishment during their school, since of a walkout. According to ”The Chicago Tribune”, administrators contend that ”this form of function is discordant to a expectancy and is being addressed fast and appropriately, and this form of function will not be tolerated.”

The purpose of a walkout was for students to make certain this never happens again. Students who attend Homewood-Flossmoor HS contend that they feel annoyed by a video and find it culturally insensitive. Administrators will not contend if or how a students will be disciplined.  However, with a walkout, students are perfectionist that a 4 boys who were concerned in a video be punished.
