Charles Manson family member Leslie Van Houten on Jun 3, 2019, was denied parole. This was a third time Houten was denied.
In Jan a release house of California endorsed Van Houten be postulated parole. California administrator Gavin Newson overturned a statute observant that 69-year-old Van Houten remained a hazard to society.
Newson pronounced that notwithstanding Van Houten being prolific while she was behind bars, earning a bachelors and masters grade and completing a self-help program, a savagery of a murders she was endangered in transcend a good she had done.
The administrator said:
Van Houten and a Manson family members committed some of a many heartless and scandalous killings in a story of California. After reviewing everything, we find justification that shows Van Houten continues to poise a risk to a multitude if she is expelled during this time from prison.
He continued by saying:
