Vinod Rai on Virat Kohli’s English County stint: Let him decide

Vinod Rai, member of a Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA), on Wednesday said, it depends on Indian skipper Virat Kohli either he wants to paint India in a one-off Test opposite Afghanistan or he wants to play county cricket to ready for a marquee array opposite England.

“CoA has taken a unwavering preference to inspire a players, generally exam specialists, to play county and file their skills for a England series. No doubt of interlude them to play contra Afghanistan. The group that played in Sri Lanka will play contra Afghanistan,” Rai told ANI.

“Afghanistan is personification contra India and not Virat Kohli. No actor (Cheteshwar Pujara especially) will be called behind from UK to play contra Afghanistan. Priority is England and to do good there, so, whatever it takes.”

“Will not repeat a same mistake that happened contra South Africa. The operative cabinet of a BCCI is us, so doesn¿t matter what they contend or think,” Rai added.

India-Afghanistan Test compare will be played in Bengaluru starting from Jun 16 in a center of Kohli’s county commitments with Surrey.

India is scheduled to play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 5 Tests in England starting from Jul to September.
