“The seed of this thought was sown when we started looking during Van Gogh’s paintings in a book about Impressionism. In America, we would revisit museums that housed his collections. At The MOMA [The Museum of Modern Art] in New York, we saw Starry Night, and that altered me. It was zero like what we see in books or on a Internet. The colours were richer, and changed me to tears,” recalls Deshik Vansadia, executive and solo performer of Vincent that will be staged this weekend.

Vansadia who is a artistic executive of The Shakespeare Company of India, and a Shakespeare expertise during The Drama School, Mumbai, went about ravenous Van Gogh paintings, and was sad to learn about a artist’s demise. “If we demeanour during his work of over 2,000 paintings, you’d suppose he lived for 70 to 75 years. Vansadia will play Theo to tell Van Gogh’s story. ‘I didn’t wish to execute Van Gogh for some reason, yet it is a dream purpose for any actor. we felt it would turn about me. So, we looked for a opposite approach. Theo wasn’t abounding though he upheld his brother. When Van Gogh brought home a prostitute with dual children, and another painter friend, Theo upheld them as well. The adore between a brothers is special,” explains Vansadia. 

In a play, Theo recollects these letters and describes a Van Gogh to his peers. The assembly will be treated to a multimedia knowledge wherein a artist’s works will be projected on stage, as Theo talks about them. “No matter where he lived or who he met, he continued his art. When he was bad and worked in a spark mine, he drew with coal. Those paintings are dismal, grim, and uncover people experiencing hardships. They were some-more like black and white sketches. Later, when he detected his temperament as a painter, a colours magically exploded on screen,” reveals Vansadia before signing off.
