“Our priority was to rise a structure that gave context and definition opposite general cricket and quite in a Test arena,” ICC arch David Richardson said. The Test joining will start in 2019 and see 9 teams play 6 array over dual years — 3 home and 3 away. It will cap in a final between a dual tip teams during Lord’s.

The ICC has argued for years that a Test championship is indispensable to boost a format’s recognition as crowds and TV viewers group to a fast-paced, big-hitting Twenty20 chronicle of a game. It initial allocated a cabinet to inspect a judgment in 1998, though squabbling over formats, and fears that some nations will be disadvantaged, have stymied efforts to launch a joining structure.
