Actor Gary Oldman’s 98-year-old mom Kathleen ‘Kay’ Oldman is “very proud” of his Oscar win. The 59-year-old star scooped a Best Actor endowment during a Oscars for his description of Winston Churchill in The Darkest Hour. His mom has responded after he thanked her for her “love and support” in his acceptance speech, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

Kathleen, famous as Kay to her friends, told a Daily Mail newspaper: “I used to tell Gary stories about vital in London during World War II and listening to Churchill on a wireless. So to have him win for portraying this good male done me really proud.”

Gary finished his debate by mentioning his mother. “Put a kettle on, I’m bringing (the) Oscar home,” he had pronounced on stage. Kay lives with Gary and his wife, art curator and photographer Gisele Schmidt, who common a sketch of them celebrating his Oscar win in their kitchen in Los Angeles on Instagram.
