Beijing: A Chinese male has been condemned to a year in jail for blackmailing a tomb manager and hidden a casket.
The male stole a cinerary box from a tomb in Changping district, Beijing in December, 2015, a Changping district people’s justice of Beijing pronounced in a verdict.

He phoned a tomb manager and asked for 300,000 yuan (USD 47,000) to lapse a casket, and after lowered a release to 45,000 yuan. He was eventually nabbed by a police. The justice found him guilty of extort and extortion. He was condemned to one year in jail and fined 2,000 yuan, state-run Xinhua news group said.
